Crusoe Confirms Google’s 1+GW Armstrong County Data Center Campus

Crusoe has confirmed its role as developer of Google’s six-building campus near Claude, connecting more than 1GW of planned development with neighboring wind generation.
Crusoe’s September 28 announcement puts its name formally behind Google’s Armstrong County data-center campus. Construction began in June 2025, and the developer reports more than 5,500 skilled workers onsite daily.
The development spans more than 1,100 acres and six buildings. Its planned scale exceeds 1GW; that figure does not establish that all of the campus computing capacity is operating.

Power at the Source
The site directly connects to Serena’s operational 265.5MW Goodnight 1 wind farm. Neighboring Goodnight 2 has the same planned capacity and is under construction. Crusoe says campus demand helped bring that second development forward.
Wind production varies. The wind farms’ nameplate capacity should therefore not be confused with a constant power supply or the campus’s IT load. The connection illustrates how large computing developments can influence new generation investment.
Cooling With Lower Water Demand
The campus will use closed-loop, non-evaporative liquid cooling, designed to limit ongoing water consumption primarily to domestic uses.
Construction requires coordination between cooling equipment, distribution pipework, electrical supply and controls. System testing and commissioning remain distinct from the completion of the building shell.
Following the Delivery Program
Delivery is expected to proceed in phases during 2027. Building completion, customer handover and the start of computing operations are separate milestones.
