H-E-B Plans $55.5M in Houston-Area Store Renovations and Expansion

Three separate store projects put $55.5 million of estimated construction into H-E-B’s Houston-area pipeline. Tomball includes an expansion, while Pearland and Angleton are remodels.
H-E-B is planning construction at three existing Houston-area stores, with an estimated combined value of $55.5 million. The program covers Pearland, Tomball and Angleton, but the projects have different scopes and schedules rather than forming a single construction contract.
The Pearland registration describes an interior remodel at 2805 Business Center Drive. Tomball’s record covers a remodel and expansion at 28520 Tomball Parkway. October 8 reporting also identifies a $20 million remodel at the Angleton store on East Mulberry Street.

Separate projects, separate delivery windows
Pearland’s filed window is February 15 to April 14, 2027, with 151,858 square feet listed. Tomball’s 96,237-square-foot package is scheduled from March 1, 2027 to April 28, 2028. These are registration estimates and remain subject to change.
The difference in duration is a reason to follow each store independently. A short interior-remodel window and a longer building-expansion program do not imply the same construction sequence, site requirements or amount of work. The listed floor area also should not automatically be read as new space added to the existing building.
Working with an existing retail site
TCH’s assessment is that the key delivery questions concern access, service connections and the relationship between the existing store and the work area. Any operating-store phasing would need to be confirmed by H-E-B; the filings alone do not establish opening hours, temporary closures or customer arrangements.
For the expansion, the interface between old and new construction will be a useful milestone to watch. For the remodels, the detail that matters is which interior systems and spaces are included. Neither should be inferred from the estimated cost alone.
Appointments and next milestones
The documented design information is available in the member section. A general-contractor award for this group of projects has not been established in the reviewed material.
Next steps to follow are final scope confirmation, any revisions to the filed dates and a dated start at each location. Keeping the three projects separate will prevent progress at one store from being reported as progress across the entire $55.5 million pipeline.
