Networking equipment changes requested by Microsoft push the revenue milestone for the $9.7 billion contract into early 2027.

IREN has confirmed that networking equipment changes requested by Microsoft have delayed delivery of its AI data-center capacity in Childress. The company now expects the related revenue milestone in January or February 2027, rather than by the end of 2026.

The Childress campus in the Texas Panhandle supports IREN's agreement with Microsoft, valued at $9.7 billion in contracted services. That figure reflects the value of the services contract, not construction spending.

IREN delivered the first building at the site in August 2026.

Co-CEO Daniel Roberts said the facilities are close to completion but still require remaining equipment installation and commissioning work.

The company had not previously confirmed the delay.

No new general contractor or specialty contractors have been identified, and IREN did not disclose a revised construction budget.
