A fourth beverage production line is expected to increase SunOpta’s network capacity by 10%, expanding output at its North Texas manufacturing plant.

SunOpta has opened a $35 million production-line expansion at its Midlothian beverage facility. Announced September 22, the fourth line is intended to meet customer demand and add approximately 10% to the company’s network capacity.

The plant produces beverages including plant-based milks and creamers, tea and broths. The added equipment also supports more package formats and positions production closer to customers’ distribution networks.

Expansion within an established plant

The original facility opened in 2023 with approximately 285,000 square feet and was designed for potential growth to 400,000 square feet. The latest announcement concerns a production line; it does not confirm that the full potential building expansion has been constructed.

The investment adds manufacturing capability to an existing operation, rather than announcing a separate greenfield campus.
