Project overview
Lockheed Martin’s Grand Prairie manufacturing expansion combines newly built production space with converted offices. A ribbon-cutting on October 14, 2026 marked a building milestone, while installation and commissioning of automated manufacturing equipment remain the next delivery focus.
The announced investment covers a manufacturing program, rather than a disclosed standalone building contract. This free profile separates the physical expansion, equipment partnership and operational targets.

Project team and delivery roles
Lockheed Martin is the owner and intended production operator. Hadrian supplies manufacturing technology; its role does not establish a construction general-contractor appointment.

Machining, inspection and production integration
The December 2025 collaboration describes a factory-as-a-service approach using computer numerical control machines, robotics and a manufacturing execution platform. Machining and inspection are intended to work within a scalable cell rather than as unrelated equipment purchases.
Equipment delivery, installation, calibration and production qualification are distinct tasks. The useful next milestone is confirmation that the integrated cell has entered operation. An announced operating target should not be interpreted as an already commissioned system.
New space and conversion work
New construction and conversion require different planning. Reusing office areas for manufacturing can involve changes to building services, internal circulation and equipment support; these are typical considerations, not verified package descriptions for this facility.
The overall manufacturing footprint includes existing space. Neither that total nor the investment announcement establishes the price of an individual building contract. A procurement opportunity would need current owner or delivery-team documentation.
Workforce and investment boundaries
The announced 2,000 jobs relate to Texas employment, not a verified construction workforce for this building. The Grand Prairie program should also be distinguished from Lockheed Martin’s wider national investment plans.
