Century Communities Expands DFW Footprint Through HistoryMaker Acquisition
The October 8 transaction adds operating communities and a local team; it is not a new October 15 construction award.
Century Communities has acquired HistoryMaker Homes’ operating homebuilding assets, expanding its Dallas–Fort Worth presence through an established local platform. The company announced the transaction on October 8. This update places that completed acquisition in the regional construction context.
The buyer says the transaction triples its community footprint in the market. That measure refers to its operating development presence, not a tripling of completed homes or a newly awarded civil-construction contract.

An operating platform changes ownership
The acquisition brings communities and personnel into Century’s regional business. The combined division is based in Grapevine, and construction continues within the acquired operations. The transaction does not mean that each community is restarting development from its first phase.
For suppliers and trade contractors, ownership changes can affect the organization responsible for future purchasing and project oversight. The announcement does not establish new trade awards or changes to the delivery terms of individual neighborhoods.
Land development remains part of the model
The announcement identifies a continuing relationship with Jabez Development for land development. That relationship should be distinguished from a general-contractor appointment for all homes or infrastructure within the acquired portfolio.
No transaction value was disclosed. It would therefore be misleading to derive a capital-construction budget from the acquisition announcement. The useful follow-up is the combined division’s community pipeline and the timing of future phases, rather than an invented price for the deal.
