The nearly one-million-square-foot plant is scheduled for phased handover beginning in fall 2026, with final turnover expected in early 2027.

JCB’s South San Antonio manufacturing campus is entering the period scheduled for phased turnover, a process intended to allow equipment installation, workforce training and operational preparation as areas of the plant become available.

Earlier coverage pointed to October 1 as a production milestone. A fresh company announcement confirming full production on that date has not been established, so the current status is best described as the planned turnover and ramp-up window.

A large manufacturing campus

The $500 million investment occupies a 400-acre site on Palo Alto Road and includes nearly one million square feet of manufacturing space. More than 1,500 jobs are planned as the operation develops.

The plant is intended to manufacture telehandlers, scissor lifts and aerial-access equipment. The scale of the site also leaves room for future expansion, but additional phases should not be treated as committed construction without separate announcements.

Handover is a sequence, not one opening date

The published construction plan calls for phased facility turnover beginning in fall 2026 and final turnover in early 2027. A manufacturing handover can precede the point at which every production line is operating.

For the project, the next useful confirmation is a company update distinguishing building delivery, installed equipment, workforce training and commercial production. Contractor appointments are available in the member section, with utility provision identified separately from utility construction.
