Liberty Hills Breaks Ground in Anna With $50M Infrastructure Program

Veritas Communities marked the October 8 groundbreaking of an 866-acre community. Work is underway in the first two neighborhoods, with retail construction targeted for December.
Veritas Communities celebrated the groundbreaking of Liberty Hills in Anna on October 8. The 866-acre master-planned community sits west of US 75 between Rosamond Parkway and Mantua Parkway, with more than 1,800 homes planned alongside commercial space and extensive outdoor areas.
This is a late-current construction milestone from October 8, not a new October 12 ceremony. The owner says work is already underway in the first two residential neighborhoods and that home sales are expected to begin in early 2027.

The first neighborhoods account for 1,442 homes
The Preserve is planned for 991 single-family homes and The Greens for 451. Together they account for 1,442 homes within the larger community. Six homebuilders are participating in those initial neighborhoods; their allocations are available in the member section.
The difference between the first-neighborhood total and the 1,800-plus master plan matters for construction tracking. The announced early work should not be described as simultaneous delivery of every future home or parcel.
Infrastructure is a substantial program in its own right
Veritas puts its investment in community infrastructure and amenities at $50 million. That amount is not the combined value of every house, commercial building and land transaction at Liberty Hills. It describes the developer’s identified infrastructure and amenity commitment.
The master plan includes 217 acres of amenities, open space and preserved areas, connected by trails. The relationship between retained landscape, drainage and developed neighborhoods will shape the horizontal construction sequence. A gross-acreage figure alone does not establish how much land is being graded at any one time.
Commercial work has a separate target
The planned entrance-area retail includes Sprouts Farmers Market and a further 30,000 square feet of leasable retail. The owner release, referring to a City of Anna announcement, anticipates commercial construction beginning in December 2026.
That is a forward target rather than confirmation that the retail buildings have started. It also does not establish a retail general contractor or the final value of the commercial package. Residential infrastructure and commercial delivery should be followed as related but distinct workstreams.
Watch the transition from infrastructure to occupancy
The owner’s announcement targets the start of home sales in early 2027. Sales openings, completion of houses and acceptance of streets or utilities are different milestones, and the announcement should not be read as a guarantee that the whole community will be occupied by then.
The next useful updates are the first released residential phases, infrastructure acceptance and a defined retail mobilization. The six participating homebuilders identify who is delivering initial homes; they do not establish the master civil contractor or the trade teams responsible for the entire community.
Liberty Hills is therefore a meaningful current horizontal-development program with a later commercial component. Future team announcements should identify the exact roads, utilities, landscape or retail scope involved, so that individual appointments are not mistaken for responsibility for the whole 866-acre plan.
