The San Antonio City Council on Nov. 5 approved a construction contract of up to $9,173,961 to replace Fire Station 33, according to city records. Marksmen General Contractors LLC is the general contractor.

The new station will be built at 2935 Castroville Road. It will replace the existing Fire Station 33 at 2002 Southwest 36th Street.

The city said the replacement will address limitations at the current station, including space for firefighters and equipment and the ability to support modern emergency-response technology.

The project is funded through the city's 2022 bond program and other capital funds.

A groundbreaking date, construction start and completion date have not been announced. Mechanical, electrical and plumbing subcontractors have not been identified.
