The Bryan research facility brings cleanroom construction and central utility upgrades into a semiconductor program approved at approximately $205.5 million.

The delivery team for the Texas A&M Semiconductor Institute is coming into clearer focus. University construction records identify Vaughn Construction Construction as construction manager at risk and Stantec Architecture as architect, while ACO Mechanical describes its thermal utility scope.

The project at the Texas A&M–RELLIS campus in Bryan combines semiconductor research space with the infrastructure needed to support precise fabrication and testing environments. This is a contractor update on an existing development, not a new campus announcement.

Cleanrooms and utilities

Plans include cleanrooms, lithography facilities, advanced-technology spaces and hazardous-material handling infrastructure. Affiliated Engineers describes an approximately 73,000-square-foot, two-story building, with vibration control and environmental stability central to its engineering.

ACO says its work includes underground thermal piping and an expansion of the existing central utility plant with chillers, cooling towers, pumps and boilers.

Program and package values

The approved program budget and the construction filing cover different scopes. The $144.9 million filing should not replace the broader program figure or be treated as an additional investment on top of it.
