State Filing Puts Dallas ISD's W.W. Samuell High School Replacement at $168 Million

The registered 310,000-square-foot campus in southeast Dallas is designed for 2,000 students and funded by the district's 2026 bond.
Dallas ISD has registered a $168 million replacement for W.W. Samuell High School at 8928 Palisade Drive, according to a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing. The registration, dated Sept. 17, describes a new high school for 2,000 students.
The state record lists 310,000 square feet and a construction schedule from Jan. 11, 2027, to Jan. 11, 2029.
The filed scope includes classrooms, science labs, special education spaces, career and technical education facilities, performing arts space and athletics.
The district has budgeted $200 million for the project from the $6.2 billion bond that Dallas voters approved on May 2, 2026.
Demolition of the existing campus began this summer. Samuell students are attending classes at the former Piedmont G.L.O.B.A.L. Academy campus while the new school is built.
Corgan is the design firm. The district's bond tracker lists the contractor and the construction start and opening dates as to be determined.
