The grid operator warns its large-load study will likely slip unless all disputes are resolved by the end of March 2027.

ERCOT has asked state regulators to fold large-load interconnection complaints into a single generic docket with a Nov. 20 filing deadline. The move could determine how quickly data center and industrial projects move through the grid operator's Batch Zero study.

ERCOT made the request Nov. 3 in five complaint dockets, including those of Medina County Power, Rowan Stampede, Mesquite H2, ACS DC Hicks Field Road and Skybox Datacenters.

The grid operator proposed limited discovery and final hearings capped at one to two hours. It warned that the Batch Zero study will likely be materially delayed unless every complaint is resolved by the end of March 2027.

ERCOT has received 32 disputes, denied 25 and expects 12 to 20 more complaints.

Developers oppose consolidation and want hearings before the full Public Utility Commission. They asked for oral argument at the commission's Nov. 5 open meeting. An administrative law judge has paused all complaints until Nov. 10.

The Nov. 5 agenda also includes the draft standard large-load interconnection agreement. Comments on that agreement are due Dec. 14.

Among projects in the queue, Ionic Digital said its 466MW Ward County request holds a provisional Batch Zero classification. A final classification is expected in December, and 377MW is expected to energize in late 2027.
