Grand Prairie issues $72.6M permit for data center shell on Miller Road

A November 2 permit lists $72.6 million for a data center core and shell at 1081 Miller Road, with operating capacity and project team unconfirmed.
A commercial building permit issued November 2 identifies $72.6 million in construction at 1081 Miller Road in Grand Prairie, where plans call for a new data center core and shell. Groundbreak’s November permit roundup records the package’s valuation and building scope.
The permit covers work from the foundations through the building enclosure. Its scope includes concrete foundations and piers, structural steel, precast concrete panels, metal panels and roofing. The application also lists electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems, giving the package a defined building-services component alongside the structural work.
The $72.6 million valuation applies to the core and shell described in the permit. The available summary leaves the interior data hall configuration, cooling design and eventual operating capacity unspecified. It also provides no building area or breakdown of how the permit value is distributed among the structure, enclosure and building systems.
The developer, operator and tenant have yet to be identified in the available permit material. The general contractor and specialist installers also remain unconfirmed. The issued permit establishes an address and a substantial physical scope for the proposed building, while the timing of field mobilization and any separate fit-out packages remains open.
The November 4 version of the permit roundup also lists a November 3 entry at the same address for Building No. 6, with the same $72.6 million value. The entries have not been reconciled against the underlying permits, so this article does not combine them into a larger construction total.
