$2.9M renovation converts Laredo emergency facility into micro-hospital

The $2.9 million, 8,000-square-foot conversion has reported site activity, but a revised completion date and opening schedule remain unconfirmed.
The existing Laredo Emergency Room near McPherson Road and Del Mar Boulevard is undergoing a renovation to become a micro-hospital. A November 3 Laredo Morning Times report documented construction activity at the property on October 30 and identified the change of use through Texas construction records. The filing describes approximately 8,000 square feet of renovation valued at $2.9 million.
The project reuses the existing freestanding emergency facility. The registration establishes the intended new use and how much of the property the renovation covers. It leaves the future bed count, clinical layout and scope of specialist building systems unspecified. Those details would clarify how the micro-hospital will operate and which portions of the existing facility will change.
The underlying state registration originally scheduled work during 2025–2026. The recent site report adds evidence of physical construction activity to that earlier filing. It does not establish a revised completion date or an opening schedule for the new facility.
The $2.9 million figure applies to the renovation described in the registration. The available reporting leaves the general contractor and healthcare mechanical, electrical and plumbing firms unidentified. The project’s current position is an observed renovation at an existing medical property, with the operating details and delivery schedule still open.
