The steel-structure maker is tripling its Waller County campus to about 100 acres and 750,000 SF, with more than 500 jobs.

Race Rock Infrastructure has registered a $60M, 483,881-SF manufacturing building at its Brookshire campus. The building is part of a $100M expansion that broke ground on Oct. 14.

The building, called Brookshire South, is a pre-engineered metal structure on a greenfield site at 34253 Wilson Road in Waller County. Work is listed from Oct. 12, 2026, to Aug. 9, 2027.

The owner of record is Race Rock Infrastructure Holdco LLC of Houston. No design firm is assigned on the registration.

The expansion will grow the campus from 32 acres to about 100 acres and from 287,000 SF to about 750,000 SF of manufacturing space.

The plant makes steel transmission and substation structures for utility, highway and energy customers. The company expects to add more than 500 skilled jobs, and completion is targeted for early 2027.

The expansion comes as Texas utilities scale up grid spending. CenterPoint Energy recently raised its capital plan to $70.7B, and AEP Texas is planning major transmission rebuilds in South Texas.

No general contractor or engineer has been named for the expansion.
