Adolfson & Peterson Construction has been selected to build CapMetro’s North Base Demand-Response Facility and Central Warehouse at 10805 Cameron Road in Northeast Austin. The project brings fleet maintenance, vehicle servicing, administration and storage together at one operating base. The award was reported on October 20 and appeared again in Texas Contractor’s November coverage. Contractor appointment coverage

The facility will include a three-story administration building and a 16-bay maintenance garage. A dedicated service island will accommodate vehicle washing and fueling. Together, those facilities will support both the day-to-day servicing of vehicles and the maintenance work that requires a dedicated garage bay.

A separate 20,000-square-foot central warehouse and a training pad are also in the program. WSP, HOK and MWM Design Group are identified on the design team. The project combines conventional building construction with vehicle service infrastructure and outdoor work areas, each supporting a different part of CapMetro’s operations.

Construction was scheduled to begin in fall 2026, with completion targeted for September 2028. CapMetro estimated the project at approximately $120 million in 2023. The contractor announcement establishes the builder and delivery scope, while the current contract price and board approval date have yet to be established. Earlier project estimate
