The November 10 agenda lists up to $16.28 million for seawall repairs and enhancements, plus a proposed transfer of $1.41 million in funding.

Corpus Christi’s November 10 City Council agenda lists a proposed construction contract of up to $16,278,491 with JE Construction Services LLC. The work covers repairs and improvements to the Michael J. Ellis Seawall on North Padre Island. The ordinance, item 26-1652, was introduced October 22 and is listed for council consideration November 10.

The proposed agreement identifies a Corpus Christi contractor and a contract ceiling for work on the existing seawall. The agenda describes the project as a repair and enhancement package, with the full scope and construction sequence yet to be reconciled. The available record leaves the timing of work along individual sections of the seawall open.

The ordinance also includes a funding action. It would amend the Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone No. 2 capital improvement program and transfer $1,408,621 from the Sand Dollar capital improvement project to the North Padre Island Seawall project. The city says the transfer would help fully fund the seawall work. The agenda lists six votes as required for the item.

The October date marks introduction of the ordinance. The November 10 agenda is the documented point for council consideration of the proposed award and funding transfer. A construction schedule, contract execution and notice to proceed have yet to be confirmed.
