Medical City Fort Worth builds $51.5M parking garage with helipad

The hospital says the eight-story, 1,189-space garage will ease parking constraints and support future growth, with completion targeted for spring 2028.
Medical City Fort Worth is building a $51.5M parking garage on the south side of its hospital campus, the hospital announced Nov. 3. It describes an eight-story structure with 1,189 spaces, with completion targeted for spring 2028.
The hospital said the garage will relieve current parking constraints and support future growth on the campus.
The project is registered with the state as a "Parking garage and Helipad" at 900 Eighth Ave., with an estimated construction cost of $41.1M for 424,269 SF. That includes a 415,232-SF garage and a 9,037-SF helipad. The hospital has not explained the difference between its $51.5M project figure and the $41.1M construction estimate.
The owner of record is Columbia Plaza Medical Center of Fort Worth Subsidiary LP, which does business as Medical City Fort Worth. The hospital is part of Medical City Healthcare. HKS of Dallas is the architect.
The registration lists work from Dec. 1, 2026, to Feb. 4, 2028. The hospital says construction has begun, but has not given a start date.
No general contractor, structural engineer or mechanical, electrical and plumbing contractor has been named.
