Nova Compression Names Interim CEO as Texas Fleet Operations Grow

The leadership changes follow a South Texas asset acquisition, but the announcement does not include a new facility or construction award.
Nova Compression has appointed Chief Financial Officer Zach Gray as interim chief executive, succeeding Jonathan Mitchell. The October 16 announcement also names Jay McKenna interim president and Mike Wright senior vice president of business development.
The company supplies compression equipment and services to natural-gas producers in Oklahoma and Texas, including the Eagle Ford and Delaware Basin markets. It reports a fleet of approximately 400,000 horsepower.

A leadership update following expansion
Nova’s announcement follows its acquisition of additional South Texas compression assets earlier in 2026. The leadership changes therefore affect an established industrial-services business with an expanding operating footprint, rather than a newly announced construction contractor on a named project.
The company’s published offering includes conventional gas compression, electric compression and high-pressure gas-lift equipment. These services connect the business with production and field infrastructure, but horsepower describes equipment capacity, not a capital-project value.
No new construction commitment disclosed
The appointments do not come with an announced plant, a building budget or a construction timetable. They should not be counted as a new Texas project award.
Future equipment deployment, facility investment or operating-base expansion would provide a more direct construction signal. For now, the confirmed change is in company leadership, with the resulting investment priorities still to emerge.
