Tesla plans to wind down Cybertruck production at Gigafactory Texas in Austin around mid-2027, CEO Elon Musk said on Friday. Musk said in a post on X that the change is meant "to make room for increased Cybercab production."

The move shifts floor space at one of the largest factory buildings in the country toward the company's purpose-built robotaxi. Tesla's most recent shareholder letter lists more than 125,000 units of installed annual Cybertruck capacity at the Travis County plant.
