Toyota Files $200M Sitework Package as San Antonio Manufacturing Campus Prepares for Growth

The registered package covers approximately 72 acres of sitework, with a filed start in December 2026.
Toyota has registered a $200 million sitework project at its San Antonio manufacturing campus, outlining a substantial construction package to support future building expansion.
Known as TMMTX Sitework 1, the project is located at 1 Lone Star Pass and covers 3,131,141 square feet, equivalent to approximately 71.9 acres.
That figure describes the sitework area rather than new factory floor space. The registration identifies a program running from December 1, 2026 to December 1, 2028, with Toyota Motor Manufacturing Texas listed as owner and SSOE Group as the design firm.
The filing comes against the backdrop of Toyota’s much larger commitment to San Antonio. In July, the company announced a $3.6 billion expansion involving a second vehicle assembly line supporting Tacoma production and approximately 2,000 new jobs.
Toyota said that wider development would add approximately 2.5 million square feet, doubling the plant’s size by 2030. Tacoma production would transition from its Baja California operation over approximately four years.
The sitework registration provides a more specific construction package to track within the campus’s development activity. However, the filing does not explicitly identify the work as part of the second Tacoma assembly line, leaving that relationship subject to owner confirmation.
The $200 million estimate and $3.6 billion investment therefore describe different measures: one is a registered sitework package, while the other is the company’s overall expansion commitment.
Registered on September 21, the package subsequently appeared in October reporting identifying the December start target. Actual mobilization has not been verified, and the general contractor and mechanical and electrical teams remain unconfirmed.
The separate $531 million rear-axle plant should also remain distinct from this filing and the second assembly-line expansion.
