Carrier Secures $500M Permit for Fort Worth Manufacturing Conversion

Project Jay would adapt a large existing industrial property for manufacturing and engineering operations.
Carrier’s planned Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Center in Fort Worth has received a building permit with a declared value of $500 million.
Known as Project Jay, the development is located at 1501 Distribution Drive and involves alterations to approximately 600,000 square feet within an existing 1.2-million-square-foot industrial property.
The construction scope extends beyond production equipment. Plans include manufacturing lines, mezzanines, offices, building alterations and utility infrastructure, adapting the existing shell to accommodate the proposed operations.
Gray AES is identified as the design firm. The state registration sets out a construction schedule running from December 2026 through September 2027, although those dates remain the filed program.
The city permit, dated October 27, provides another milestone in the development’s progression. It follows a state construction filing dated October 14.
Carrier has separately announced more than $600 million in company investment. The $500 million permit describes the declared construction value within the wider development and should not be added to that commitment as a separate investment.
General contractor and MEP appointments have not been independently confirmed.
