$156M San Antonio Loop 410 Project Enters New Traffic-Control Stage

Overnight lane restrictions support pavement markings and barrier installation within an existing highway improvement program.
Nightly westbound restrictions on Loop 410 between San Pedro Avenue and West Avenue are scheduled through October 30 as crews undertake pavement-marking and concrete-barrier work. The latest stage forms part of TxDOT’s ongoing $156 million San Pedro improvement program.
The closure report was published October 24 and describes work beginning October 25. It is a traffic-management update on an active project, rather than the announcement of another $156 million award.

What changes during the overnight work
Up to four lanes may be closed, with at least one remaining available. Ramps can also close temporarily, and the published arrangement calls for lanes to reopen each morning. Travelers should check current notices because construction schedules can change.
For construction delivery, markings and barriers help define the next operating arrangement through the work zone. This notice does not establish that a separate major construction package has been awarded.
A wider corridor improvement program
TxDOT’s project extends along Loop 410 from West Avenue to Broadway Street and along US 281 toward East Nakoma Drive. Its scope includes ramp changes, intersection reconfiguration and frontage-road improvements near San Antonio International Airport.
The agency describes the work as a response to congestion, merging conflicts and safety concerns. Its timetable extends toward 2029. Contractor information confirmed by TxDOT is available in the member section; individual specialty appointments have not been verified.
