Bastrop Convention & Exhibit Center, the scheduled venue.

Residents will have an opportunity to hear from developers as large data center proposals draw attention across Bastrop County.

Data center development will be the focus of an October 29 community forum at the Bastrop Convention & Exhibit Center.

Hosted by Bastrop County Conservatives, the event is intended to explain how the facilities operate and what they could mean for local electricity, water, infrastructure and development.

Listed participants include representatives from EdgeConneX, Pacifico and Black Chamber. Residents can submit questions for a moderated discussion covering topics such as construction, noise, taxation and utility demand.

The forum comes amid continuing scrutiny of large proposed campuses in Bastrop County, where development plans have prompted questions about the scale and timing of supporting infrastructure.

The city is providing the venue and has posted a possible-quorum notice for council attendance. The event is informational, with no council action or city business scheduled.
