A 106,500-square-foot truck-return and deep-storage facility is scheduled in the filing for January 2027 through January 2028.

H-E-B has registered a $40 million addition at its Foster Road supply-chain campus in San Antonio. The October 13 filing covers 106,500 square feet and identifies a truck-return center and deep-storage facility, with office and operational support space.

The package is one part of a much broader investment program. H-E-B announced plans in May to spend $700 million expanding San Antonio supply-chain operations. That wider commitment and this building estimate describe different scopes and should not be added together as separate new investment announcements.

A support building with several operating functions

The registration describes a two-story office and administrative area, shipping and receiving offices and integrated maintenance space within the facility. Those uses explain why the project is more than a simple storage shed: it combines goods handling with the people and maintenance functions needed to support the operation.

The listed address is Building 12 at 2045 South Foster Road. The record establishes the registered building area and scope, but does not provide a public breakdown of the $40 million among storage, offices, maintenance and site works.

Part of a larger supply-chain expansion

H-E-B’s broader program covers manufacturing, warehouse and transportation capacity. The company’s announcement linked that investment to anticipated demand and a growing workforce over the following decade. The latest registration gives one component a more specific physical and scheduling definition.

Reporting also identifies a larger refrigerated facility within the campus development. That separate building should not be confused with the 106,500-square-foot truck-return and deep-storage registration. Different facilities can serve the same supply chain while proceeding under distinct construction scopes.

A filed construction window, with appointments still to follow

The registration lists January 4, 2027 as the start and January 31, 2028 as completion. These are filed dates rather than independently confirmed site milestones. Further owner updates will be needed to establish when work actually begins.

The filing identifies a design firm, included in the member section. It does not confirm a new general-contractor or specialist-trade appointment for this package. The next useful disclosures are the delivery team, any related registrations and confirmation of the construction start.
