Foundations and drainage drive the current stage
At the Eastex interchange, the update describes underground drainage and bridge substructure activity, including foundations, columns, drilled shafts and concrete piling. These elements establish the infrastructure on which later roadway and bridge work depends.
The Cardinal interchange update also identifies bridge-column and foundation construction, alongside planned removal of existing US69 structures over the BNSF railway. The railway interface is a meaningful part of sequencing, although the weekly bulletin does not provide a complete possession or demolition program.
Read a weekly update as a progress report
Weekly construction notices are snapshots of planned and current activity. Weather, equipment and other site conditions can change what is completed in a given period. The listed spring-2031 finish should therefore remain an anticipated date rather than a guarantee.
For the construction market, the scale of the two projects points to a sustained program of concrete, drainage, roadway and bridge delivery. The update does not announce new subcontract packages. The confirmed prime-contractor information is available to members below, while future reports will be most useful for tracking traffic switches and major structural milestones.
